Decision-making
Research
Through an extensive research period for the purpose of the publication of a PhD thesis focused on how consumers make decisions, Marketing Professor, Drs. Gill Merrill discovered that there are way more biases that influence human decision-making than she first anticipated: 225 to be exact.
This discovery guides a journey of self-discovery where she learns about the forces behind some of the negative experience she has faced as a culturally and ethnically diverse gay woman. Her idea as an Educator is to explore how widespread biases are around the world and to instigate discussions about how they can be first learned and then contained so that history stops repeating itself through our ongoing mistakes, generation after generation.
